ServiceStudio components support your company throughout the entire lifecycle of your SAP integration projects. From the development and modeling of interfaces to SAP scenarios and the administration of finished solutions, to the migration of your .NET applications when making an SAP upgrade: ServiceStudio is the basis for future-proof, maintainable and reusable scenarios.

Development
Use the
ServiceStudio Visual Studio 2005/2008 plug-ins to create abstract, documented business entities. ServiceStudio provides you with a complete set of plug-ins, editors, wizards and test tools! ServiceStudio includes a comprehensive portfolio of development tools that are directly integrated in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 and help you integrate .NET apps with SAP business processes and data.

  • The ServiceStudio Composer is a Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 plug-in that provides comfortable real-time access to all SAP systems and iQL business entity libraries. With the composer you can create a business entity and identify SAP objects and functions (e.g. SAP queries, BAPIs, RFCs or business objects). An integrated test cockpit similar to the SAP transaction “SE37”) allows you to test all functions directly in Visual Studio. In addition, you can debug the SAP functionality from within Visual Studio. With the plug-in you have access to distributed business entity libraries (e.g. central server or a coworker’s library). Business entities can be modified, versioned or duplicated at any time. And with just one click in IIS, every business entity can be published as a .NET web service.
  • Model your business entities with the ServiceStudio Business Designer. A business entity is an abstract, documented map of a business process in SAP.With the iQL Business Designer, a business entity is prepared so that it can be used by .NET developers in any possible application scenario, without having to have in-depth knowledge of SAP.In such, a business entity can be created once and then transferred to a central library. The .NET developers then identity the necessary business entities via the iQL Composer and drag & drop them into the respective applications.Because business entities are completely based on metadata (XML), you can modify, enhance, version or duplicate an entity at any time. This provides a flexible degree of reusability and gives you the security of being able to organize your integration projects and drastically cut costs. You can also create so-called “custom methods” with the iQL Business Designer. These are methods that internally execute multiple SAP functionalities and even embedded .NET code. The Designer provides you with comfortable mapping and a flow logic editor for this purpose. Using these tools, you can create “intelligent” entities, which, once centrally published, give any .NET developer powerful access to complex SAP scenarios.

Administration
A central administration environment provides the necessary transparency of your running application. Maintain your SAP target systems and monitor the performance between the systems from one central location. ServiceStudio business entities are stored in a central library, the ServiceStudio .Coordinator repository. This library hosts the entities and can be centrally managed. All .NET applications and developers have access to the hosted business entities. Via a central administration environment (Windows and web-based), your company can manage and organize all applications and target systems. The ServiceStudio Coordinator repository is a central library for all business entities. The repository service hosts and manages the business entities, and makes them available to internal applications and developers.

Through a comfortable administrative user interface (Windows and web-based), administrators can make central configurations. As an example, SAP target systems for specific applications can be managed, or even business entities can be very easily imported and exported. If desired, a monitoring component logs the communication between the .NET apps and SAP systems. This allows fast identification of bottlenecks or performance problems. In such, administration is the key for an organized, transparent integration environment in your SAP/.NET projects and ensures the seamless, long-term use of your solutions.

Monitoring and Deployment
ServiceStudio gives you the security of knowing that your applications will keep on running smoothly even after e.g. an SAP release update! Integrated delta checkers and deployment tools save you time and effort. .NET applications that refer to business entities can be comfortably linked with a central iQL repository server with the help of the iQL client console.

Forget about elaborate configuration files on your servers and complicated deployment: With the iQL deployment components you can implement .NET applications in just seconds while enjoying the security of centralized administration. Through the deployment, a .NET application (such as sharepoint WebPart, ASP.NET-Webapplication, NT-Service etc.) is registered on the repository server and you have access to all the possibilities offered by the centralized administration environment.

Connectors and connectivity
Choose between RFC and SOAP communication for the SAP connectors that are included. Connect any conventional SAP system (e.g. R/3 4.6c to SAP ERP 2005, SAP CRM etc.) to your Microsoft platform! ServiceStudio allows you to integrate .NET applications with a number of SAP systems. For example, you can use SAP R/3 4.6c to roll out sharepoint WebParts with an SAP link. Or integrate your SAP ERP 2005 system in your Microsoft Office environment. You’d like to use SAP BW or SAP CRM scenarios in ASP .NET applications? No problem with iQL Studio.ServcieStudio provides you .NET 2.0-based connectors for SAP, which give you the freedom to integrate both older and current SAP releases. You can select from RFC and SOAP-based communication in order to use the optimal infrastructure at your company. The connectors support all conventional SAP security methods (e.g. single sign-on, SAP logon tickets etc.) and authorization concepts. SAP requires no add-ons or other transport requests. The installation of iQL Studio is therefore only necessary in your Microsoft environment.
