Independence from Notes - For organisations seeking independence from the Notes platform, Devworkz offers a number of technical solutions and services for the migration to the Windows platform. The migration of standard content to the reconstruction of complex Notes applications in SharePoint can be readily handled by our proven solutions and techniques tailored for this purpose. Depending on your situation solutions for ‘migration’, ‘recomposition’ and or ‘coexistence’ can be used to gain full Notes independence.
Most organisations will require one or more of these scenarios to achieve independence from Notes. New rapid development Notes connector for Application Coexistence and data mash-ups in SharePoint “Our rapid provisioning of Notes databases with ’web services’ and ‘agents’ allows easy, agile, application development and coexistence in SharePoint. From SharePoint you can display, edit, update and create new Notes documents. Build application functionality without custom code, all with a ‘point and a click’! Leave your Notes content in place and re-align you development budget and resources to the SharePoint platform”
New auto discovery and audit tools We can now provide a complete auto discovery, audit and analysis of your Notes environment. Accurately quantify and assess your Notes assets. Analyse and provision them for migration, recomposition or coexistence into SharePoint.
- Content Migration - The Notes Migrator for SharePoint is a proven, cost-effective tool for quickly and successfully moving Notes documents to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 or Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) v3.
- Recomposition - The recomposition of Notes applications in SharePoint involves the migration of content and then the reconstruction of application logic and workflow in SharePoint.
- Coexistence - Notes coexistence is where application logic and workflow is created in SharePoint but the content still residing in the Notes database. In this case Quests Web Parts for SharePoint provides a direct connection to Notes via an internal web service.

Option 2 Recomposition The recomposition of Notes applications in SharePoint is no trivial task where the pain of recreating applications logic can be costly and time consuming. Cost and development time in many cases makes migration of applications prohibitive stalling a complete migration from the Notes environment. Our approach is to use the Devworkz SharePoint Platform Accelerator [SPA] to enable rapid low cost development of Notes logic in SharePoint. Recomposition involves the migration of content and then the reconstruction of application logic and work flow in SharePoint.
