SIpoint press release
Devworkz launches ‘SIpoint’ a solution accelerator to integrate SAP content in SharePoint.
Are you looking to integrate your SAP and Microsoft worlds but find the idea costly and high risk? SIpoint from Devworkz could just be your answer.
Deploying SAP into a portal allows a wide audience to easily search, view and edit core business data. When organizations can effectively link the SAP and the Microsoft worlds they will be able to enhance the return on investment and empower users through rich, highly accessible information systems. The ability to access, connect and freely leverage cross platform content and serve it up as a unified set of information services will unlock new levels of productivity, insight and business agility.
SIpoint is an innovative program by Devworkz designed to give certainty and value to the integration of SAP and the Microsoft worlds. SAPpoint leverages the existing ‘services architecture’ in SAP in a way that ABAP developers can build and provision a defined set of service patterns to an SAP open source standard, ‘ZOA’. These services expose a rich set of content and features ready to snap into SharePoint via industry recognized tools such as Quest Web Parts for SharePoint and Nintex Workflow. SIpoint provides a framework to standardize, simplify and significantly remove the traditional risks associated in across platform integration.
SIpoint aims to harmonise web services from SAP [with full read and write options] and provides‘plug and play’ integration to SharePoint with SAP-aware web parts. These web parts form the basis of a codeless application development capability in SharePoint that fast tracks internal skills, rapidly enabling usability and solution development.
John Ackery founder of Devworkz said …. “our vision centers on standardizing and demystifying the service provisioning on the SAP side whilst ensuring proven tools work in a seamless ‘snap together’ manner making solution development accessible to developers and non-developers alike ”.
SAPpoint builds upon the Business Data Catalogue [BDC], SharePoints feature set for the integration of ‘Line of Business’ data and provides charting, dash boards and rich ‘read’ ’edit’ and ‘write’ capability for application development. SIpoint leverages the BDC to form an integrated application development capability combining full search of SAP from SharePoint.
During November and December Devworkz, supported by Quest Software, will be holding a number of public seminars to preview the range of capabilities and solutions that can be developed in SharePoint using SAP content. The seminars will be held in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and will allow owners of SAP systems the ability to experience firsthand the power and simplicity embodied in SIpoint.
