business user to easily build parent–child
relationships, cross site lookups, auto filling,
dependent lists, flow control and persistent
filtering. This is a must have for the
development of rich applications in SharePoint.

Solve critical pain points without custom coding: Being able to relate data is a common
capability in any database or Business Intelligence
system. Relating data has been a key tool to turn raw
data into relevant meaningful information. In real
terms SharePoint has no capability to relate data
across sites, sites collections, web applications, or
virtual servers.
|
Parent-Child |
You can define a primary key field and foreign
key field in the lists. You can also replicate
some fields from the parent list in the child
lists so that those fields are available to be
displayed and searched. The WA List Form can
auto-fill the foreign key field and any of the
replicated fields so that the user does not have
to enter the data manually. This ensures that
all these fields will be populated properly and
consistently. |
|
Cross-Site Lookup |
Provides the capability to lookup multiple
fields from multiple lists in any site or site
collection (as long as the sites are still in
one configuration database). |
|
Auto-Fill |
The ability to Auto-Fill a field based on value
of a field that belongs to a parent field. The
parent field can be a lookup field or a
cross-site lookup field. This feature ensures
data consistency and correctness when the value
from the parent field is replicated in the
target field. |
|
Dependent list |
The WA List Form can create or update
items on other lists when an item is saved in
one list.
|
|
Referential Integrity |
Any webparts in the WADS that enable you to
delete a record can check for the other lists
for any child records. If there are one or more
child records, the delete operation will result
in an error. |
|
Flow Control |
The list form enables the developer to choose
the page the user is directed to when they
select Save and Close and Go Back to List
enabling the development of process oriented
applications such as CRM |
|
Email enabled lists to drive ad hoc processes |
You can send links to a particular list, item,
document, or form from the WA List Form,
WA List View and WA Calendar View. |
|
Persistent Selector |
The WA Persistent Selector displays data from a
SharePoint® list in a dropdown control. It is
persistent because it remembers the last item
selected. You can associate Persistent Selectors
in different pages with the same data.
|
|
Multi Persistent Selectors |
The WA Multi Persistent Selectors combines more
than one Persistent Selector into a single Web
Part. One Persistent Selector will filter the
subsequent Persistent Selector. |
|
Selected Item Display |
The WA Selected Item Display displays the item
that was selected by another WebPart, such as WA
Persistent Selector, WA List View or WA List
Form. |
