Some of the base capabilities you get with the Skelta are:

Process Modeler/Designer:

The new Process Modeler/Designer is an AJAX based ASP.NET server control that can be embedded in any Web-based product, ASP Engine or Web Page. Totally redesigned on the lines of Microsoft Visio, it offers full drag and drop functionality for designing workflows. Actions can now be clicked to link, while property and other settings can be accessed quickly from the context menu.

Import of BPMN Process Models from Visio:

Skelta BPM.NET 2006 permits the import of process models designed using the ITP-Commerce BPMN Stencil for Microsoft Visio. The imported process model will be mapped to appropriate Skelta activities. It can be deployed after making the necessary property settings.

Enhanced Human Workflow Services (HWS):

Skelta BPM.NET 2006 has Channel and Forms providers that allow Human Activities to be configured for delivery in different Channel types with customized forms.

Extensive BAM capabilities:

Skelta BPM.NET has an extensive BAM Control. It has a number of out of the box reports along with the provision to generate user-defined reports. It has a dashboard where process administrators can monitor workflow execution information. The BAM Control has a provision to configure Data Points and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that helps the organizations to effectively monitor their Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow automation initiatives.

Queue Infrastructure:

Another key feature of Skelta BPM.NET 2006 is the Queue infrastructure that allows users to configure queues to which activities can be delivered. This makes it possible to deliver tasks to target groups instead of individual actors. It is very useful in scenarios, where there is a high volume of transactions and tasks cannot be assigned individually.

Role Providers:

The Role Provider feature is related to the Queue infrastructure. It allows users to extract role information for assigning tasks from queues. This is similar to the Resource Handler, which is used in Skelta to extract resource information for use during workflow execution

 

New Calendar Infrastructure:

The new Calendar control is one more important feature in this release. It replaces the old Organization Calendar and Resource Calendar controls. It comes with a Calendar provider which can be used to configure new calendars. It allows users to define top-level calendars and create child calendars that inherit the settings of the top-level calendars. In this way, low-level calendars can defined to any depth.
